Hangar 18 live at The Sunset Station
KOMP End-of-Summer Kegger Party
Henderson, NV
September 13, 2003
Every
year, the local radio station KOMP FM in Las Vegas NV has an
end-of-summer hurrah featuring local and national acts, original
and cover bands. This year, Hangar 18 was proud to be a part
of the event, along with Los Angeles' The Iron Maidens and the
legendary Glenn Danzig, plus Thr3 and The Sweet Al Miller Band
(featuring KOMP DJ Sweet Al Miller).

The Sunset Station, one of the Station Casinos, is
located in the new city of Henderson. Besides having everything you'd
expect in a Vegas resort, the casino surrounded by a thriving retail
area.

The stage was huge! The staff and crew were professional.
Each of the five bands that played that night had to bring their
own gear. They had two drum risers on wheels, so that as the bands
changed out, the crew would roll another fully set-up drumset to
the center of the stage.

Of course, Dave Scott Chedrick Samuelson's drumkit
barely fit on the riser!

The weather was mild for Las Vegas, but the desert
sun was still unmerciful. Here, a shirtless William "Fro Mustaine"
Rustrum enjoys a small breeze.
The Sunset Station
show featured guitarist Michael "Mikey Friedman" Johnson.
Basswoman Melanie "Mellefson" Sisneros strikes a power
chord.
As the show progressed, the crowd began to thicken
with beer-drinkin' revellers.
