Hangar 18 live at The Crest
Torrance, CA
June 27, 2003

Hangar 18 started out A Very Sabbath Weekend at The Crest in Torrance, CA with Sabbath tribute, Sabotage.

The stage at The Crest seemed a lot larger when Sabotage played; Hangar 18 was a little cramped between a large thunderous double-bass kit, props and effect lighting. Small stage aside, there was still plenty of headbanging going on.

The assaultive dual-lead guitar team, William "Fro Mustaine" Rustrum and Michael "Mikey Friedman" Johnson.

Hangar 18 unveiled a new song at the Crest, "Reckoning Day", of which bassista Melanie "Mellefson" Sisneros made her backing vocal debut.

Mega-photographer Carol Anderson catches drummer Dave Scott Chedrick Samuelson by surprise. Because of the small stage, it was difficult to capture photos of H18's mighty sticksman.

A silly between-tunes photo of Mikey Friedman...

Fro Mustaine's hair expands with the progression of the show and the intensity of the headbanging.

The night included a special treat, as Mellefson and H18 drumtech/lighting tech Anna Yost (who is also an excellent drummer) joined Sabotage onstage for a jam of "Paranoid".

When he's not fretshreddin' with Hangar 18, guitarist Marty "Vic" Doty can often be found at a H18 show controlling the lighting and effects. Likewise, when Marty is on stage, look for Mikey Friedman behind the scenes at the lightboard.

Flyer Gallery: The flyer for The Crest was split 50/50 with Sabotage artwork. The Hangar 18 portion included the H18/Peace Sells artwork while the Sabotage side included logowork designed by Sabo-bassist Alex Cortes and assembled by H18 bassist Melanie Sisneros.

Special thanks to our fellow band mate and our crew, without whom the show would not have been possible: Marty "Vic" Doty, Anna Yost, Ron Vander Dussen, Carol Anderson (photography), and Jeff Fahnestock (video).
